About Our Chains

As the exclusive Australian supplier of premium German-made .935 Sterling Silver chains, I am proud to offer a product that stands apart from traditional sterling silver jewellery.

Our chains feature an innovative patented treatment known as Pronice®, which uses advanced nano-technology to interact with the silver at a molecular level. To enable this process, an additional 1% of pure silver is added, creating a higher silver content of 93.5% pure silver, alloyed only with copper for strength and durability.

The result is a chain that is highly resistant to tarnishing and designed to retain its beautiful shine for much longer than standard sterling silver. Unlike traditional silver chains that can eventually turn black, our chains may develop a soft white patina over time, which can be easily restored to their original brilliance with a quick polish using a quality silver cloth.

Having wholesaled these unique, high-quality chains for more than 15 years, I knew they were something special. As I entered semi-retirement, I decided to continue offering this niche range to the Australian jewellery industry. From that decision, SS Chains was born — a business dedicated to providing exceptional sterling silver chains that combine quality, innovation, and lasting beauty.

My Story

Many of you may already know my story.

In 2003, I founded Stones & Silver Jewellery, a family-owned wholesale business specialising in sterling silver jewellery and gemstones. Over the following 23 years, I had the privilege of building lasting relationships with customers throughout Australia and growing a team and business that I was incredibly proud of.

As retirement began to beckon, I made the bittersweet decision to close Stones & Silver and embrace a slower pace of life, with more time for travel and new adventures. To ensure my customers remained well looked after, I worked closely with another trusted wholesaler who took on a large part of my jewellery range.

However, one area remained close to my heart — my collection of premium sterling silver chains and neckwear. I quickly realised there was a gap in the market for these exceptional products, and the demand from customers confirmed that they deserved a dedicated home of their own.

So, while Stones & Silver may have closed its doors, SS Chains represents a new chapter — allowing me to continue supplying the chains I believe in, while maintaining the personal service, integrity, and industry knowledge that have been at the heart of my business for more than two decades.

I look forward to continuing to work with many familiar faces, welcoming new customers, and sharing these exceptional chains with the Australian jewellery industry for many years to come.
